The hundreds of things to download caused IE8 to hang.

Google’s Chrome has no problems handling it.

Tried it in IE8, loaded ok…then this message popped up (see image)
Errm I was using IE8…
FF has no trouble though.

Anyway…I don’t really like url shorteners…I like to see the URL i’m clicking.
Virl does it wierd though, adds the page in a frame as oppsed to redirecting…(good or bad? I’m not sure…)

Hello Bob

I need a freeware for viewing postscript files.(.ps and .eps). could you suggest some?.

regards
nmb

http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1GGLS_enUS312US314&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=freeware+for+viewing+postscript+files

Scythe do you think I didn’t google it?.. ??? I thought a suggestion from an experienced would be better. :-\

lol, well you know some people. They’ll be the first to ask questions, because they won’t take that extra one second to look for themselves. Not saying that you’re like that at all.

Doesn’t he have a list of programs on his file sharing site? Maybe search around there, you might turn up something before he returns and gives you an answer.

oki… cool. no probs. 8)

I did search in his freeware list. but didn’t work out. so thought to ask him.

Gotcha.

You might try this: http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/

I don’t have any .ps files to test it on, but it looks promising.

In fact i’m using(temporarily) gsview, using ghostscript, now. but it isn’t (gsview) freeware. it is not so good. hits me with so many errors… i’m already hating it.

Well, that’s unfortunate. Hopefully we’ll find something for ya.

If not, I guess you’ll have to use a real PS viewer or illegally obtain one. Hopefully it won’t get to that point though. Good luck in your search!

ooh… how 'bout this: http://view.samurajdata.se/

It’s an online viewer, but it might be sufficient. I don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish.

thankyou in advance and also for replying to my post.

i’ll not use anything which is not legal. may be i’ll wait for all you guys to post something.

the online viewer is the first link you get when googled for postscript viewer. the quality of output is not so good. also i need to take print outs. the options on the left hand side is not needed.

any suggestions, welcome

Hi nmb,
I’m sure that scythe944 is experienced but am flattered by your comment. ;D

As to your question, I use Irfanview (iview) but in order for it to view the formats you requested,
you’ll also need to install GhostScript.
To extend Irfanview even further I would also recommend their Plugin package.
To make it easier for you, the download links on MySharedFiles for these programs follow:
http://mysharedfiles.no-ip.org/GhostScript870w32.exe
http://mysharedfiles.no-ip.org/iview425_setup.exe
http://mysharedfiles.no-ip.org/irfanview_plugins_425_setup.exe

Hope that helps and answers your question.

i have all the softwares you have recommended bob. i have multiple pages in the file but irfan view shows only one page. i did use gsview but it seems that it cuts the fonts at the top a bit when i try to print. i have printed as pdf. i’ve posted the screenshot. take a look

I see your problem.
Unfortunately I like many others don’t have any postscript files on my system so I can’t even test any other programs.
Sorry.
