bob people use these tools called booters that boot your router offline clogging it up with packets. someone can ddos you offline if they obtain your ip. now im sure most people on this forum know how to change their ip so it might not be a big deal to you. if this is a normal user they wont know what to do.

I have a new IP address every morning because I turn off modem over the night.
I also sometimes use free SafeIP.
I’d like to know if it is possible to block websites to (geo)locate you based on your IP ?
What is the point in booting? Like really… Take them off the web for a little while? AT most destroy their router?
I have been threatened so many times by hackers and the scammers, I find it hard to believe a 13yr kid is actually intelligent enough to DDoS someone.
In order to DDoS (Distrubuted Denial of Service) would require a massive network of bots. So unless the people DDoS’ing are using LOIC (Low Orbit Ion Cannon) you would need to know coding, how to infect mass people on a mass scale, and maintain that infection.
So, telling me you can get my IP, is not (Whats so ever) an issue.

Maybe, but only a few teens can probably effectively DDoS someone. It’s rare that I come across some with the technical know how.

Please take my warning seriously these programs can be used by a 10 year old it takes no skill at all to use a booter. These Network stressors are web based. All the user has to do is copy n paste your ip and hit stress network Depending on how strong their booter is and how much they have paid for the service they can boot you offline for 30 min Intervals. After the attack has stopped your connection will be back but keep in mind if they find your back online they can just boot you off again.
