My work uses a RAS and Citrix Workspace, but their website not detecting Avast

Hi all,

My work uses Citrix Workspace, but their website is not detecting Avast. My IT says

I need to “white list” their website and allow Pulse Secure and Citrix Workspace.

I added the website under “Exceptions” in Avast Premium Security and added whatever I could find related to Pulse Secure and Citric Workspace to “Allowed Apps”.

It is not working though. Anyone have any similar experience and maybe some tips? As my own IT is a bit useless and only gives me very generic advice.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

How do you access your Citrix environment, via the Citrix app?

Please have a look at these guides: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Antivirus-scan-exclusions
https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Antivirus-Firewall-Application-Rules

I think a more comprehensive description of the problem/environment would be needed.
I mean, “their website is not detecting Avast” sounds like Citrix is somehow looking for the antivirus (some kind of AV policy) but not detecting it?

Thanks both.

I believe I’ve added it to the eceptions, allowed app, firewall settings as illustrated.

I connect via https://dbrasweb.db.com/ to a Citrix environment, but as soon as I do:

“Windows Defender 4.18.1902.5 does not comply with policy. Compliance requires real time protection enabled and latest virus definitions.”

I have reinstalled even Avast again as per suggestions from my IT…

And Avast is supported as per my company’s guidelines: https://dbrasweb.db.com/docs/check-your-anti-virus-software-is-supported-and-up-to-date.pdf

Can it be on their end or something on my PC that makes them think I have Windows Defender?

I don’t know how to attach images to these posts a sthat might make it easier to explain.

Thanks so far both,

Rory

Online I found something that seems similar, but for Norton. What do you guys think?

Hi, this seems to be a common error/issue for pulsesecure and anti-virus applications. The supported AV list depends on the ESAP plugin version, according to their website https://community.pulsesecure.net/
I would suggest that you check that forum.
