Avast has lost its mind. While in silent mode, I got a pop up saying that I am being tracked and that Avast has found a tracking cookie. It has the nerve to call this issue level CRITICAL.
Since when is a single tracking cookie critical and why did they bother me with a pop up when I am in silent mode?
What Avast version are you running ?
I think that Avast Free 26.1 had a mod/fix for that, Silent Mode issue.
However, you could also switch to Limited Mode on Notifications settings.
I just got the same thing. I am in silent mode and my ver is Avast Free; 26.2.10802g (build 26.2.10802.970).
My laptop is running Win 11, 25H2. I’m so irritated by the constant sales pitches that I’m looking for something else. Why in the world would I consider upgrading to premium when the app itself behaves suspiciously like adware? Also the rating of everything as a CRITICAL EMERGENCY seriously damages credibility. If everything is critical, really nothing at all is.
Well believe it or not as I mentioned, Limited Mode is more effective.
However that said Set your Avast Program Updates to Manual as currently the Avast version 26.3 has removed. I have reported this failing via another area to an Avast Team member. Hopefully it is a hiccup and the Limited Mode will be fixed/restored.
