Hello May_Bob!
A good & secure firewall, that I can suggest are
1)Comodo, see here: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ ,
2) PC Tools Firewall Plus: http://www.pctools.com/firewall/ .
But you can use search function on this forum, to find more results.

Anyone know of a Vista compatible one ?

Hi essexboy!
As far as I know PCTools firewall works with Vista just fine.

The avast firewall?

Is it avaliable?

That isn’t fair pulling our legs Vlk ;D unless you are talking avast for Kerio (Kerio being the firewall). OR dropping a very large hint on future Alwil software developments ?

Finally you’re talking about your old dreams… I mean, our old dreams 8)
Any schedule? (I know Kubecj hates scheduling…).

Come on Vlk, what do you know???

For your machine will be good look’n’stop firewall, it runs with Avast! good.

Hello, essexboy

These may work with Vista:
— 64 bit/ 32 bit
Jetico Personal Firewall 2.x BETA ( Jetico, Inc. )
— 32 bit
PC Tools Firewall Plus ( Pc Tools )
ZoneAlarm Beta ( Zone Labs )

Also, Comodo Personal Firewall 3.x will support Vista.
cf. Comodo Firewall Pro Windows Vista and x64 Compatibility ( Comodo Forum, March 04, 2007 )

I’m looking forward to the avast firewall.

Now look what you started Vlk ;D

Where, when, how Gimme gimme. ;D 8)

LOL, sorry I forgot it’s not shipping yet.

Hello Mark.
I think it is just a roadmap :-\ . Yeah, it’ll be great to get a firewall from avast!, or even the “ASS” (Avast! Security Suit) ::slight_smile: :P.
But I also think that we just have to wait and see, what it will be, (hopefully not to long). ::slight_smile:

An Avast firewall? Now that will be an interesting development… :o However as I’ve been seeing v5 hints for the AV Home ever since I’ve been using Avast Home, I won’t hold my breath ;D

The best is yet to come, so everybody stay tuned!

If the software developers and this team ever decide to add a firewall to this product…I will certainly be in line to give it a try.

What ever they do I hope they don’t make an ASS out of avast ;D

Any firewall whilst it should be fully compatible and optimised for avast it should be stand alone. Many people arrived at avast to get away from suites, the Jack of all Trades and often Master of none (no slight in Alwil’s products), bloatware tool. I just don’t like suites.

Don’t worry David, this is the policy…

It will be standalone and, if the user wants, integrated in a single control panel.
