Name when logging on to the Avast Forum

I really can’t remember if I have asked this previously but is there any way to amend the name that is used prior to entering the forum password? I don’t mean the forum posting name as that appears correctly.

Under summary it shows as the username.

It isn’t entirely clear exactly where the Summary is that you are talking about.

The logon for the forums is validated against your avast account, the my.avast.com is your avast account, your email is the user name and password (what you have chosen). This differs from what you see displayed in the forums ‘nightshade’, this is your Display Name the username: is still your email, but that isn’t displayed.

The name displayed in the forum can be changed in your Forum Profile section, in the Account Settings. But as I said, I’m not entirely sure this is what you are looking for.

It’s not the name displayed in the forum that I would like to change it’s the username i.e the email that I would like to change if possible.

I have found a section under the my avast .com that allows to add an email, now whether it allows to make one the primary and then delete the old remains to be seen, I shall give it a try and report back.

Actually before I do try it, has anyone ever added a new email to their my avast .com account and if so do you have the option to delete the old one which then would make the new one the primary email?

It’s under Manage emails.

You first have to add the email to your account, this I believe has to be confirmed (an email sent to your primary email address), once confirmed, you can then set that new email as the default email (username).
