I have just recently upgraded my free avast to internet security. When I did this my ping and upload speeds were affected. Mainly my upload speeds. It went from 6.0 mbs. to .15 mbs. When I uncheck the ndis filter in my network adapter it goes back to normal. Anyone had this problem or any ideas.
Uninstall avast. Run http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility under Windows Safe Mode, several times; each time for each version of avast you ever have installed or updated to.
Then download AIS TRIAL from the official web site. Install it, reboot, test it. Is it working? Then add your license file. If it still has problems, ask again.
Thankyou ady4um, but that didn’t fix it. I did as you said uninstalled it in safe mode with the tool. I then installed the free protection and tested my performance, and it was good. Then when I insert my lisence I lose almost all of my uploading performance. Not sure what to do now any suggestions?
Please Reboot (don’t skip this). Go to Add/Remove Programs → avast → change and review which components of avast are installed (should include all AIS components). Check them all and continue. It may also update the program version and/or the definitions. Once finished, reboot yet again (very important). Test again and report back.
BTW, do you have any other security tool? Have you uninstall other security tools before installing avast?
