i downloaded block-checker the thing that makes you see if the other person is online and its a vrius i didn’t know about avast picked it up and it is still on my computer i am running windows xp how do i get rid of it?? please help

i uninstalled it but its still on my computer please help me!!

Please use Google or MSN Search and type:

block checker virus

It is a legit component of MSN Messenger, but there is also a virus infecting it.

how do i delete a program or a file in ms-dos?

Go to the folder (maybe using cd C:\dos command, for instance, where cd is, in fact, change directory.
Use del filename.ext with the real name and extension.

You find the Dos screen under Accessories, the black icon.
If you type help and press enter all the commands are shown.

Thanks ALOT avast team now i just need to delete a dll with ms-dos because it says its in use when i press delete

Using http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/unlocker1.7.0.exe will be easier, just right click the file, unlock it and delete it into Windows 8)

That’s a very useful program. Sometimes you can also rename that file, reboot and delete. Maybe that’s easier.

ok but can i uninstall the program when i have deleted the file??

Sure you can, but why? It’s small and very very useful 8)

If you have RejZor’s AEC program already there is an option in there to delete a file ‘Advanced File Remover’ or if you already have HiJackThis it can also be done from there, Config… Misc Tools, Delete a file on next boot.

So if you have either of these programs you don’t need to download anything else.
