My fiancé’s computer began to run extremely slow. It took several minutes for a page to open and getting logged in to anything once the page opened seemed nearly impossible. After fighting with what I believe is/was a vicious adware program, I was able to get the Avast! Free downloaded and installed (This took about two hours to get done before a scan could get started). I set the program to run a full scan and after an hour, I was advised to let Avast reboot the computer and continue the scan before the system came back up. Upon doing so, the scan took another three hours and found the below results. Once the items were quarantined and the computer rebooted, I was no longer able to go back online. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why I can’t or better yet, how I can get her computer back online? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I talked to Avast tech support, but without gaining access to the internet, we could not proceed with the remote access. I have a second license for the Avast Premier, but it cannot update the definitions in order for the full version to be of any use. Tech support stated we may have a “tick.” Can anyone elaborate a little more on this?
