I was doing my regular thing on the web and I downloaded a torrent file to save for later DLing. I dont know if the torrent file itself contained the virus or not, but about 2 minutes afterwards AVAST popped up with a warning about Win32: VunDrop saying it had infected the memory and that i needed to schedule a boot time scan, I did so immediately. As it was scanning it found a 10 files that were infected, i had them all moved to the chest. My computer boots fine, no problems except this. When i sign on, normally it should take me right to my desktop, it tries to sign me in, then spits me back out to the user selection screen. I try to log in, i see my desktop background for about a half of a second and am immediately logged out. I’m pretty sure one of the files moved was important to me logging in. I tried booting in safe mode and loggin in as admin, that didnt work either, same story, logging in and immediatly logged out and back to the selection screen. I’ve shut my computer down for the night and am hoping either someone here can help. Using my little bro’s comp to look for answers. here’s a list of what it said my comp was infected with:
Win32:VunDrop
Rootkit-gen
and Win32:fasec
If anyone can help i would be most appreciative. Thanks guys.
