I have just left my avast! Help section. I have read all about the anti-spam filter and the whitelist and the blacklist. My problem is I can’t find them!! The Help section says, “On the main page…” What main page?? I can’t find the tab they are talking about on ANY ‘main page.’ Can any of you please help me? There are things that I am supposed to be getting that I am not getting… I have avast! v.6.
Thanks!!

Welcome to the forums, donutlady
Since anti-spam concerns email, did you click on the Real-time Shields (it’s on the main page) and then on the Mail Shield?
By the way, the main page would be the page that opens first in the GUI.

OK. Now I know what the main page is. And, I kinda know what a real-time shield is. But, how do I find the whitelist and the blacklist to find out what is on them??? Also, what is a GUI???
Sorry, but I’m dumb about these things. Another question, is there a way to be notified when someone (like you) answers my post??
Thanks for the help!!

What is GUI http://searchwindevelopment.techtarget.com/definition/GUI
A GUI (usually pronounced GOO-ee) is a graphical (rather than purely textual) user interface to a computer. As you read this, you are looking at the GUI or graphical user interface of your particular Web browser.
avast GUI is what you are looking at when you have opened the program.....

the anti-spam is not related to the mail shield at all. It’s an additional feature, essentially useful for people running Outlook, and only available in AIS. Okay you couldn’t tell as you seem to run Avast Pro, but there’s a version comparative in the help section
edit: the OP is probably running the free version, so there’s nothing to look for.
