Some months ago I uninstalled avast and went with a different security program. I used the avast uninstall tool, did it through Safe Mode and all that, but in scanning for problems my Toshiba laptop has identified an avast driver. How do I get rid of this?
Rejzor made a tool http://rejzor.wordpress.com
Download avast cleanup tool

Didn’t work. See screenshot. I tried running it again as administrator and got the same thing.
Can someone please help me get rid of this driver from avast? It is causing a problem on my machine. When I go to my computer it shows the Toshiba as in the screenshot here.
To repeat myself, when I uninstalled avast I used the avast removal tool and did it in safe mode as instructed. Now suddenly this is popping up.
I would appreciate some help to clear this.
Go to control panel > device manager
Locate the driver (it will have a question mark alongside)
Right click and select uninstall… If you get an error then right click and select delete
Thank you so much. I believe it worked so you solved my problem again.
It was an old XP driver ![]()
Below is short version of How-To Clean Uninstall.
It sounds like you found the driver in Device Manager but sometimes you have to select “Show Hidden Devices” in the pull down menu.
Also, for what it is worth for others reading this thread…for W7 64bit the Avast Drivers show in Non-Plug & Play Driver section of Device Manager.
- Download these cleaners.

Rejzors Uninstall tool: http://rejzor.wordpress.com/avast-cleanup-tool/ - Uninstall Avast by control panel [If you don’t have Avast in control Panel go to #4]
- Uninstall in Safe Mode using Avastclear.

If there is anything related to Avast with a yellow triangle then uninstall it (highlight, right click) and reboot.
If you get an error just right-lick & delete.
