Need help! network drives inaccessible

After installing of Avast Internet Security 5 all network drives became inaccessible.
When I had to uninstall AIS, all working fine.
Problem confirmed on 3 different PC.

system: Windows 2000 SP4
avast: 5.00.418

Please help!!!

I had to install Avast Antivirus Pro, after install network works fine. Then I gave to Antivirus the licence file from Avast Internet Security. Antivirus has to accepted it and offer the upgrade to Internet Security. After upgrade, AIS5 starts with disabled FIREWALL and I can’t start it. But network still works fine.

Any ideas how to install AIS5 with working firewall?

I reported the same issue on January 27, 2010 and was told to search the forum for answers. Almost a month later, I still cannot install avast! 5 on my Windows 2000 SP4, because the firewall cannot be started and the computer cannot connect to Internet. I purchased a licence for 3 computer also and would like it to run on my Win 2000 computer, before installing it on any other PC. Can someone help us both, figuring out the issue, please???

Do you have plain Win2000 SP4 installed or both SP4 and Rollup1? The difference can be seen by looking at the version kernel32.dll in your system32 directory. Some problems conserning avast! installation on Win2000 system were discussed in the thread http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=55660.msg471586#msg471586 . A link for downloading Rollup1 can be found in this thread also.

Thanks for the suggestion, I checked the kernel and even if I was up to date, I ran the Win2K rollup1, just in case. I reinstalled avast! 5 and I still have the same issue. The firewall does not want to start and I lost my internet connection. :-\

I’m afraid the firewall indeed still has some problems with Windows 2000.
It is being worked on, but I’m afraid I don’t know any schedules.
