Want to install avast!4.x Home replacing AVG 7.5 Free
My Dell laptop came bundled with Windows XP, Norton AV ( 2006, I think ) and Norton Ghost 10.0
I uninstalled Norton AV and installed AVG 7.5 Free. But find LiveReg(Symantec Corp)Ver 3.1.0 and Liveupdate 2.6(Symantec Corp) Ver 2.6.14.0 still in my system which I believe are part of Norton AV.
Further, I have installed AVG Rootkit Free,AVG Anti-spyware 7.5 and Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware in my system.
Since I do not want to face trouble on installing avast!4.x Home, I need your guidance how to go about it.

Uninstall AVG anti-virus. Reboot. Run the AVG removal tool. Reboot. Run the Symantec removal tool. Reboot.

AVG anti-rootkit and anti-spyware are no longer supported, so you can get rid of those too.

The Norton Removal Tool says it will remove Norton products,will it remove Norton Ghost 10.0 also,in addition to removing AV ?
I want to retain Norton Ghost.

it will remove Ghost 2003, Ghost Version 9.0 and 10.0

dmb61skv, can’t you install only Ghost after you remove all?
