Hi everybody
My story :
oneday , My friend was searching for a good Anti-Virus
He asked me about my opinion
so I told him that avast is the best ever I seen
then I suggest to him to have an original copy
so he bought an copy in a special offer from the site here , the copy work for three years or two I don’t rememmber ( include 3 computers )
so he gave me a link to download the license from the site , because we he have 2 pc , and he is my friend so he gave me the license
I opened it and press on Download , then a window appear askking me to give the site permission to install it " yes or no "
then the site (avast.com) make my copy original ,
I don’t have a license to save it on the computer that time
to use it when I want
but just the site do all the job , and register my copy
and it still work until I format My pc
now the problem is I fromat the Pc
I lost My license , so what’s the solution
Hope you hepl me as fast as u could , because I am using trial now

Attention : All the old files of the formatted windows is still on the Pc
I can give you any file could prove that I was have an original license from registery or anyfile else you need
also i know the email my friend register with . also known the date will avast expired in
the copy of avast is ( Internet Security )

Hmmm. I don’t see any way around. I think you’ll have to use free/pro avast! until you get a new license key. :frowning:

no way , My copy is until 6/1/2013 or 1/6/2013

Please, upload (attach) the avast log:
C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\Setup.log
or C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\Setup\setup.log

If the file is too big for the forum, post the last 400-500 lines of it.

If the one who originally purchased the license looses the license file, he/she can let the license be re-sent to the original e-mail address:

no , the license ID is different
not like the license code
be cause I try to use as a license code but they Are not identical in the number of symbols and subdivisions

You may have to have the license converted, but I need to know the version of the license you have.

I have a message got it from avast im my friend email contain these
when i told him i lost my license he send me these info , but I couldn’t get any benefit from them in activate my copy without back to you, because you know hot to benefit from these info , ( my friend not too much in using PC and Net , so he send me unuseful info , also he enter his email rarely , and i can’t wait him to reply me again , so i need your hepl :slight_smile:

( remmember the story , he bought a license for 3 pc and my computer one of the three )

As I said - if you were the one who originally purchased the license, you can use the license-resend form I posted.
If not, you’re out of luck.

I get it from avast from the beggining of my problem
but the email go to my friend and as I say he use it , and reactivate his copy
but he forget me hehe , and then he send me that’s info , and it’s not useful at all

I have the email that’s my friend buy avast internet security 5 using it
also the date that update will expired in jan / 1 / 2013
all files of avast in the formatted window , not delete yet
Is the setup.log file can proove that i own an original license
or license id
or license type

if it’s not , i will still waiting my friend to send me the answer

I really don’t know what you expect.
You are saying “I am using somebody else’s license - can you please send me the [someone else’s] license file again”?
Even if that were compliant with the license agreement, which I doubt, there’s no way we could tell that the story is true, or that the license file is being used with the original owner’s knowledge/approval. So you certainly won’t receive the license file that you didn’t purchase.
