Need help to tell if my system is clean

Hi, I’m new hew here.

Anyway, I get some system errors from time to time. I’ve run a thorough scan by Avast(which usually fixes the problem, my virus definitions are up to date), and even tried out the lame Norton Anti-Virus, but neither of them detected any virus activities. So I decided to post a hijackthis log here, so that you guys could help me, and tell if my system is infected, or not.

Looks OK except fot this warning:

A newer version of service pack is available. Service packs increase the safety of your system. Visit Microsoft's windowsupdate site to download the newest version of the service pack.

Posting the contents would have saved anyone having to download anything to check it.
However, the log file looks clear you can get an on-line analysis of your file as a second opinion.

Ignore any 023 reference to avast processes, this is a hiccup in the HJT 1.99.1 (especially missing file entry for avast), if you need any help with any of the analysis let us know.

But your problem is more likely to be the result of having Norton and avast on your system at the same time, this is a recipe for conflict.
O23 - Service: Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect Service (navapsvc) - Symantec Corporation - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe
You must get rid of NAV, often harder than getting rid of a virus.

Thanks a lot for your help, and okay next time I’ll post the content log, I promise. Though, the error couldn’t have been caused by NAV and Avast running together, because it already appeared before I installed NAV.

Hi Kamisutra,

You could try running TuneUp utilities: it can help clean up your registry, and has a free trial.

Thanks, FreewheelinFrank, I’ll try it out.
