I could not remove the virus with avast Virus Cleaner. I installed it, restarted my computer, turned off the resident protection of the av, closed all other applications, and it still did not remove the virus.
I have what seems like a kajillion infected files with names like Britney Spears…; Harry Potter…; Eminem…
I can see the virus cleaner scanning these files, but it does not identify them as being infected. How do I fix this and remove the virus and these files? Please help.

what version of netsky does avast report? Once you know what version you can download F-Secure’s removal tool which will do the job.
Yes and no. I have seen files with Kazaa’s name in them since being infected with this worm, but I have never registered with Kazaa, downloaded anything from Kazaa, or used Kazaa.
How do I find the version of NetSky, and what is F-Secure? This is the first virus I have been infected with.

the version can be found by scanning with an online scanner http://housecall.trendmicro.com
and F-Secure is an Antivirus Company Like Avast. I use their product as a backup scanner to see if avast misses anything. they have really great virus removal tools which is what summoner yuna recommended
