Need help with getting my Avast Internet Security Back :'(

 [size=14pt][font=georgia]I hope this is the right forum for me to be posting this in…I did a clean reinstall on my laptop and now I can’t figure out how to get my Avast Internet Security back on here and my other license as well. So I have no protection right now and would really appreciate some help please.

Download AIS using the direct link in this topic - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178580.0.

Try the Resend avast License https://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php, you will need to enter the email that you used when purchasing the license, e.g. the one that the original email with the link was sent.

Thank you DavidR I’ll give that a try and let you know how I did. I appreciate your help

You’re welcome.

Thanks so much DavidR for that helpful link. All I needed to do was download it and sign in…it knew I had 2 licenses and I didn’t even have to look for them. They activated them for me. Now as much as I appreciate the help and as easy as it was for me to get back into my accounts so I could get them back up and running again…I wonder if that’s a good thing or what? Understand what I’m saying here? Definitely not wanting to stir the pot or anything and I’m not trying to be ungrateful for your help or anything…I’m just a little concerned about my security…If anyone were to get my pw to sign into my Avast and do what I just did I wonder what they could do? Something to think about I guess. Either way…Thanks so much DavidR for helping me out here I really appreciate your help here

This isn’t an area that I’m very familiar with, but a general knowledge of how installations (free or otherwise) have to be linked to your avast account at my.avast.com.

So this I believe is more than likely because in your my.avast.com account your license/s are also recorded. When you install you essentially have to pair/link (sign in) to to your my.avast.com account. In doing so that may well have had your previous installation and its assigned license.

As far as how easy it would be for someone else to log on to your my.avast.com account - that really has to be how strong a password that you have used and how secure you keep your password. The my.avast.com login/sign in is under https (secure encrypted) so shouldn’t be able to be seen by others. I think the main thing is keeping it (and other passwords) too yourself.

There is also the Avast Passwords function that should also be in the AIS to act as a password manager and keep them secure.
