Need help with registry repair!!!

I purchased a prodcut from Uniblue Systems called 'Registry Booster". What has happened is that it has doen something to my registry, that when I’m doing a registry scan with either the Uniblue product, or Windows Care V2 (that i just installed)…

when it gets to the “User Software Setting” portion of the registry scan in Uniblue, my system reboots!!! Without any prompting…it just reboots.

When I run WC V2, when it get’s to the Registry scan portion, it does the same thing…system reboot.

Is there somebody out there that can help me with looking at the portion of the registry that might be corrupted, and help me fix it? I am very comfortable with editing the registry. I can do screenshots, emails or whatever.

I know the best thing to do might be a fresh install of the OS. But this is about a 6 hour project…and I’d rather try to find the problem in the registry. At least to me…it sounds easier and faster.

Thanks for reading this and any replies!

[b]I too w’d like to join GROOMERDRIVER in stating the fact that BE DOUBLY CAUTIOUS WHILE USING ANY FREEWARE/TRIALWARE OFFER OF UNIBLUE.Itoo had a similar string of problems while using REGISTRY BOOSTER.THE SAD PART OF USING SUCH PRODUCTS IS THAT THESE ARE NOT SO BENIGN IN THEIR USER TRIAL-okay,I kind of like the hype created by the product, downloaded it ,installed it,it messed up things ,now i want to uninstall and rectify the garbage it has created and now the biggest CATCH 22 SITUATION-These are so difficult to rectify as if they are punishing us for trying and deciding NOT TO LIKE IT AND HENCE UNINSTALLING-HOW DARE YOU DO THAT?UNINSTALL/NOT LIKE UNIBLUE PRODUCTS-LET ME SEE WHAT DEEP SCARS I CAN LEAVE ON YOUR SYSTEM-PROBABLY FORCING YOU TO NOTHING SHORT OF REINSTALL…

Hi qrius2noall,

You might try the restore feature which the product claims to have:

Backup & Restore Automatic Backup During Scan Backup History One-Click Registry Restore

http://www.liutilities.com/products/registrybooster/features/

I bought the darn thing!!! Money wasted!!!

Has it saved a backup copy of the registry or registry keys deleted that you could access just using Explorer?

I don’t know. I have determined that there’s something wrong with this PC I’m typing on. ANother PC in the house is running wireless and is pulling almost 5mb d’loads…and that’s wireless. Best I can do on this PC is 3.5mb, even when my ISP cranked up the d’load speed to 10mb.

Perhaps try using Windows Restore back to a point before you installed this junk? ???

For future reference, you’ll find many free versions of these registry cleaners here:

I do not have a Restore point that is b4 I installed Reg. Booster. I d’loaded the Windows Advantage program and it too does the same thing when it gets to “Registry Scan”…the system reboots.

Anybody have any ideas??
