I was running a scan on avast! free edition like I usually do and I found Win32:Malware-gen on 2 of my files.
All of the actions have an error of that the “system cannot find the file specified (2)”
I would appreciate some help on this matter on how to remove or deal with it.
Please respond as early as possible
Thank you in advance
What version of Avast are you using? 4.8 or 5.0?
What are the 2 filenames has avast detected?
I’m using 5.0, and the 2 files infected are
C:\Documents and Settings\Sony\Local Settings\Temp\cvasds0.dll
and
C:\Documents and Settings\Sony\Local Settings\Temp\cvasds1.dll
You got a couple of droppers.

I suggest you run SuperAntiSpyware Free. If it doesn’t work, you can use MBAM.
Download HiJackThis 2.0.2 from Trend Micro and post or attach a log here.
Thanks for the help, it seems like the virus was dealt with but since I didn’t really see any change in my computer when avast! detected the virus, who knows?
The HijackThis log is below
Thanks again
Your Hijack log shows clean. But you need to get a third-party firewall.
PC Tools Firewall Plus
Online Armor Firewall
Did you use SAS or MBAM?
Excuse me for copy/pasting this advice I’m trying to submit. I keep getting a Session Timed Out.
Outpost firewall free http://free.agnitum.com/
I used SAS to scan the system.
I’ll take your advice to get a firewall, but it’s been bugging me how I got the virus.
Any ideas?
Has SAS found the threat?
Yes, SAS found the threat.
It’s quarantined right now
