within the last 30 days i purchased avast5. yesterday my pc began running a CHDSK scan and wouldnt stop. from what i read you need to let it finish but being my work pc, not possible. microsoft site said to restart in safe mode so you can cancel and reschedule for it to run at night. did that. afterwards, avast wouldnt work. cant remember the error, wouldnt even open up. tried to reinstall. then tried to uninstall. neither would work. called the 800 number on avast site. i was routed to india.
first gentleman i spoke to did try to help but with his accent im not sure if i understood everything. he said i had computer problems and i needed to purchase their iyogi service for $139.00. after an hour he did remove the original, reinstall for me. but now when i try to open avast it says NOT PROTECTED and gives me an error that says FIREWALL. so my pc is currently unprotected.
HELP.
i would like to speak with someone at avast, not at iyogi in india. i cant find a phone number of who to call. very frustrated.
