Need some Registerstration Help with Avast! 5

Well i’ve had some issues currently can someone help me fix them. i registered and got my license for free home edition avast 5 etc and i inserted it but yet the Status were it says Current Status: REGISTRATION EXPIRED! ? when i just typed in the new one? and when i try to update it says the license product is invalid or expired? how come this is happening please help

Why not try using the Registration built into the avast UI, Maintenance, Registration as that doesn’t require that you manually enter the key.

I tryed that one i finish filling it out the Current Status goes to Registerstration Expired!

Did you do a clean install of avast 5 or did you install it over avast 4.8 ?

If install over 4.8, try a clean reinstall:

  • Download the latest version of avast, 5.0.462 http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again (if you didn’t save the one you downloaded). Use that when you reinstall.
    Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, find it here ensure you get the version5 one (it has uninstall tools for both 4.8 and 5.0), aswClear5.exe and save it to your HDD.
    1. Now uninstall (using add remove programs, if you can’t do that start from the next step), reboot.- 2. run the avast! Uninstall Utility from safe mode, first for 4.8 if previously installed and then for 5.0, once complete reboot into normal mode.- 3. install the latest version, reboot.

I Think umm when i was going to my old avast i think i did install if over it so im going to see your solution if it works ill report back here thanks…

Nothing Happened same issue again… I booted in safe mode and runned it and uninstalled avast 4 and 5

Well I don’t know what to suggest and I have ‘nothing’ to work with.

well when i try to register it always gives me registration expired!

Then did you do as suggested and try the clean reinstall that I suggested in the exact order given in Reply #3 above.

As tahe should end up with an install that isn’t registered at all and no Registration Expired notice as before.
