i need a good free software that i can use to delete things and have it be secure, something that overwrites and can not be retrieved. anyone got any ideas, thanks.

CCleaner and CleanUp also have secure deletion options in addition to other usefull functions. Cleanup has interesting sound effects too:

With CCleaner and CleanUp you might want to uncheck the option to delete prefetch files so you don’t slow down your computer. I think the “Scan local drives …” on CleanUp has a bug that can cause problems and is best unchecked. The web site has more on this.
Just be really careful about what you delete as it can’t be recovered, of course.

The free Internet Sweeper has a checkbox for Wipe (not just delete) to take care of cookies, history, cache, etc. it can be found at the location below.

well i have ccleaner, and i guess that will work, is the best windows cleaner out there, for a while i had the webroot one but onetime i used it it deleted half of my icons on the desktop so i had to use restore to fix it. is there any other program that you guys use that works really good, maybe something that has support for other programs built into it like ccleaner does.?
