Need some uninstall/reinstall advice

My daughter had Avast Pro anti virus on. Her computer has been down for a while. Now it is back up and I am going to uninstall the Avast Pro anti virus and install Avast Internet Security 7.

I normally use the free version of Revo Uninstaller instead of the Microsoft uninstaller, and use the Advanced option Is it ok to use Revo to uninstall Avast Pro anti virus prior to installng Avast Internet Security?

Maybe it seems like a dumb question, but I’m asking it anyway and would appreciate if someone in the know would advise me. Thanks for your help.

Download the latest version to your desktop from here
Download aswClear from here
Go to Programs and Features > add/remove and uninstall Avast
Reboot back to safe mode and run aswClear (select all versions of Avast ) once for each version, no need to reboot in between
After the last one reboot

Install the updated Avast

Thank you much. Hope you will be checking the virus forum and find me there. I have a Win32: Malware-gen found during boot scan. I posted yesterday and just finished posting again as I ran another boot scan and found it again.
