Hi…I’m the newbie. My name is Valerie from Orlando, FL. I am disabled so I’ve decided that since I’m limited physically to what I can do, I am going to learn as much as I possibly can about computers…be it hardware, software, dabbling at programming or whatever! I have joined here to learn and share with you wonderful folks in each and every way I can. Right now I’m having a terrible problem trying to integrate my new Chrysanth Mail Manager program with avast!. I have tried everything I can think of to enable the Mail Manager but each time it tries to connect to Outlook’s server, it gets disconnected by avast!. I thought this was going to be so easy to do. I am very frustrated at this point and need some assistance. I’m hoping someone will offer their knowledge, patience and support. Please help! I have a Dell Dimension 8300, running Windows XP Home SP2, Office XP Professional SP3, IE and Firefox, Outlook, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 70 GB Free Capacity Hard Drive, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 128 MB, Spy Sweeper, Window Washer, Spybot - Search & Destroy, Arovax Shield, Ad-Aware Se Personal, WinPatrol Plus, CCleaner, Diskeeper 10, Ram XP Pro, Zip Genius, Registry Mechanic, Stuffit Deluxe, Autoruns, AccessEnum, AceCache and some others. Please let me know if you need further information. I’ll be happy to assist in any way possible. Also, is there any way to get rid of the annoying avast! On-Access Scanner Message that appears almost constantly in the window and takes up sometimes 1/3 to 2/3 of the window space?
Thanks in advance for your help and I’ll look forward to hearing from someone soon!
Valerie

Welcome to the avast forum.
Lets deal with the easier issue first.
For all of the providers you have running:
Click on “Customize” Select the Avanced tab and uncheck the box “Show detailed info on performed action”
Now let’s see if someone is familiar with Crysanth Mail Manager.
First of all though - can you confirm that, if you terminate the avast Internet Mail provider. your Crysanth Mail Manager works without any problems?
Hello to Alanrf!
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my post.
First of all, you are an angel for getting rid of those annoying scanner messages that kept covering up my desktop…I can’t believe they’re finally gone!
Secondly, I did as you suggested and terminated both the Internet Mail provider as well as the Outlook Mail provider. The only difference I see is that now Mail Manager will stay connected for a matter of a few seconds but then disconnect whereas before, it would automatically disconnect.
I thank you so very much for suggesting that I try that first. I never even thought of terminating the providers. Apparently, the problem lies elsewhere and I am going to have to continue my search to determine what needs to be tweaked, etc., to fix this.
Have a great day!
Valerie
I still get them popping up what am I doing wrong??
NEVER MIND I FIXED IT THOUGH AS USUAL I DO NOT KNOW HOW I DID IT (did I shut the system down? I don’t think so??? did I?).
