Do I need to re-register when updating from 4.8 - version 5 ?

I got my free license key for the version 4.8 some weeks ago, can I use that one.

Will I need to re-enter that licence key in the avast home 5.0 version or will it be done automatic
when installing version 5.0 over old 4.8 version.

If you install V.5.0 on top of 4.8 it will read the old license during the install, try it…
If that does not work you will need to do a clean install and register avast 5 online, and then there is no key

There are two methods of registering avast! Free Antivirus 5.0:
On-line registration
Off-line registration
