Negative file sizes

Hi,

I’ve just scanned my /home folder with avast and found that the total size of scanned files is a negative number .

I have VirtualBox installed and .VirtualBox contains 2 two files. One is 1.4 gigabytes while the other is 2.9 gigabytes. I searched for this error and could only find this post http://forum.avast.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=306d86bc5e9e8f41496a68c7f208c4d6&topic=381.msg1732#msg1732.

I have Ubuntu Feisty installed.

My XP install on VirtualBox also comes up with a false positive. I ran XP in VirtualBox and scanned with Avast for Windows and it came up clean.

Thanks for reading

Hallo,
it’s fixed, and will be OK in the next release (the bug isn’t fatal - the scanned size and statistic accounting is internally OK, only the output number was a bit 32-bit-mangled inside GUI’s class, and thus ‘clamped’ this way). But, it You want, I can offer You our internal build

Zilog, why don’t you take a beta program for the release of updates?

Well, if You want some “beta”, here’s something - but it’s rather our internal-daily-snapshot, than real pre-release beta (contains some engine-fixes, some new unpackers etc.):

  1. original avast4workstation:
    http://public.avast.com/~cimbal/avast4workstation-1.0.9beta.tar.gz
    http://public.avast.com/~cimbal/avast4workstation-1.0.9beta-1.i586.rpm
    http://public.avast.com/~cimbal/avast4workstation_1.0.9beta-2_i386.deb

  2. modified avast4workstation:
(don’t mix this version with original libavastengine - this is intedned for 64-bit machines where the normal one doesn’t work):
    http://public.avast.com/~cimbal/_avast4workstation-1.0.9beta-1.i586.rpm
    http://public.avast.com/~cimbal/_avast4workstation_1.0.9beta-2_i386.deb
    http://public.avast.com/~cimbal/_avast4workstation-1.0.9beta.tar.gz

Hi,

I guessed it would be something along those lines but I thought the Avast team would rather it be fixed than left.

Thanks for the offer of the internal build  I’ll accept it if you don’t mind
