We have had a pop-up about a program needing the .NET Framework 3.5 on several clients. After some reasearch we managed to figure it, that it is the Avast Business Security software, needing this framework. However, this has had some security issues so I am wondering, for what such an old framework is used and which components of Avast are using it?
All of our computers are on Win11 and we didn’t have any issues with the software so far, so I am also curious why this pop-up is happening now.
I see this behavior on our workstations too. Very annoying.
Same issue here after latest update company wide. Why all of the sudden are users being prompted to install 3.5 for AVAST Program version 25.4.2847 (Agent v 25.1.2444).
Hello all, apologies for this issue! The new agent version 25.2, which is planned to be released tomorrow, will solve this and .NET Framework 4.8 will be required instead of 3.5. Thank you
