Network Access Control and Avast

Hello,

I am looking at getting a Network Access Control Appliance for our network to tighten up our security.  One of the features of these devices is there ability to detect if a system's virus definitions are up to date.  Of the devices I looked at they say they support this in McAfee, Symantec, Kapersky, AVG, etc.  Avast however is missing from this list.  I assume that these other companies incorporate the date in the vps definition and store that in a registry key and the NAC appliance scans the registry to check the date code.  Currently Avast doesn't use a date code  in the vps definition.  Is there any chance that Avast will switch to utilizing the date in their vps definitions and  scan engine such that the NAC can scan for this?

A complete support for Cisco NAC is one of the highlights of the upcoming ADNM update! (and unlike in the case of Symantec, McAfee, AVG etc - it is really a complete support - including full policy enforcements configurable from the console; the only other product on the market today that supports this is Trend Micro).
