Good day. The network scan detected two vulnerable services on my Brother HL-2270DW Printer but doesn’t identify which two. It recommends to setup a password which I’ve done on the admin and user accounts. Which services should I disable (and what features would be removed)? The scan detected the following:
FTP 21 (TCP)
TELNET 23 (TCP)
TFTP 69 (UDP)
HTTP 80 (TCP, TCP)
NETBIOS 137 (UDP)
NETBIOS 138 (UDP)
SNMP 161 (UDP)
LPR 515 (TCP)
IPP 631 (TCP)
WSD_UNKNOWN 3702 (UDP)
MDNS 5353 (UDP)
LLMNR 5355 (UDP)
RAW 9100 (TCP)
The printer is in infrastructure mode connected by WiFi to my home network. My iPhone, iPad (both running OS 16.5 and using the iPrint mobile app) and MacBook Pro MacOS 10.15.7 are the only devices that print. I login using the web interface to make any changes to the printer settings. I’ve been cyber attacked and snooped before so I want to ensure the printer is as secure as possible while still allowing me to print from my devices. Thank you!
