Network Shield Blocks Connection to Computers on my Home Network

I have a small home network of three computers: my wife and I each have a laptop and then there is one computer set up for backups.

All three have the free Avast Home version installed and I’ve found the laptops won’t look at the backup computer unless I turn the network shield off.

I’ve tried to find a setting that allows me to authorised the access to the other computer but I can’t see how to do it so I’ve had to turn the Network Shield off but that is not a good solution.

Some help on fixing the problem would be much appreciated.

I don’t get any problems accessing my computers. I have the free version 4.8 and my Network shield is set to normal.

Which firewall do you use?
Which is your Windows version?
Strange is that Network Shield shouldn’t block the access…
