Network Shield FP when attempting to scan from my HP all-in-one

I have a HP OfficeJet Pro L7650 All-In-One connected to the home network. It offers the ability, from the L7650’s keypad, to scan directly to my computer’s hard drive via a file share (\mycomputer\sharename). They call it “Digital Filing”.

It’s worked in the past while I’ve had Avast on this PC. But tonight, it started failing. I noticed a pop-up “avast! On-Access Scanner Message”:

Network Shield: blocked “Win32:CVE-2009-3103[Expl]” - attack from :445

Now, if I want to scan, I have to disable avast’s Network Shield.

Is it possible to either (a) put out a fix for this, or (b) allow me to tell avast! that my L7650’s IP with port 445 is ok?

Thanks for your help,

Phil

If your HP OfficeJet Pro L7650 All-In-One has a media reader built-in and you have used it, it is possible that there might be malware present.

Please wait for someone else to comment on this possibility.
