network shield problem.....

network shield is blocking a website (forum) that I visit daily I am a moderator on the forum
I have been a member of that forum for over 5 years.
yesterday, Avast Network Shield starting blocking the site saying it is infected when I know it is not

how do I add an exception to network shield, so that I don’t have to shut off Network Shield to visit that site?

Send an email to virus(at)avast(dot)com with False Positive in the subject.

Include all the details here, including the domain name, etc.

I don’t believe you can add exclusions to the network shield.

Wouldn’t it be better to tell us what site are you taking about so that we can find where the problem lies? ::slight_smile:

kubecj- it is a private forum that requires an invite for anybody to sign up,
and requires you to sign in, to access it.

we are a closed forum, that is currently not accepting new members.

there have been no changes to the forum software in over 6 months.

Avast! Network Shield started blocking it for no reason, yesterday.

I’ll have an Admin send an email DavidR, thank you…

I believe it’s quite easy to understand that we have to know the URL so that we can check/fix the detection… isn’t it?

I should be able to add an exception to Avast Network Shield on my own.
I shouldn’t be required to post the url to a private forum into an open forum to resolve the problem.

This feature, the exception for only NetShield, is not available.
With the URL, they could correct the virus database to avoid this false positive.

thank you for the information.

I will advise the site owner to send an email to virus(at)avast(dot)com with False Positive in the subject.

Including the domain name…

Thanks, Th3Eagle.
You’ll help improve detection
