never rec'd registration number

Hello,
I turned on my pc this afternoon and my background was completely black and the windows\web\wallpaper folder was completely empty (as well as most of the other folders for personalize desktop).

Anyway, after a long search for what could have caused this I decided to first try a system restore to yesterday. Now my pc is back to the way it was with one exception.

I kept getting a pop up box from avast stating avast! Information Your subscription for Avast Internet security has expired. As a result, the program will not download any further updates and there is a renew now icon to click on and if I click on the icon in the system tray and select subscription information I get a screen stating Avast Free Antivirus Trial Period not activated with an icon to activate trial period and under that it states Trial Period could not be activated - 10 days remaining. I did click on the activate trial period and now it states that I can 30 days but I don’t get it since I did not click to install that internet security pro version and when I had originally clicked on insert license file the screen for select a file from my desktop popped up.

Now I keep getting a popup box stating that the last attempt to update my virus definitions was unsuccessful. I did click on the program and select to update and it runs the update and then states that it is up to date.

The thing is that yesterday (or the day before that) the free version stated that there was an update and I did click to install the update but I did not click to install the pro version at any time. I went to the control panel and it states that the version installed was installed on 3/11/13 and it is version 7.0.1483 but if I click on the icon in my system tray it is stating that the version installed is 8.0.1483.

So I don’t get it. How is it that the icon for the anti-virus is stating that version 8.0.1483 (pro version) is installed but that is not what is showing up in the control panel of the computer.

I figured that maybe I should just do a clean uninstall of the program using the clean uninstall download found at http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=119198.msg927336#msg927336 and then do a reinstall of version 7. I did click to register my avast free after downloading the clean uninstall program and version 7 of the avast free and waited for an hour to get the registration number so that after doing the uninstall and install of the program again I would also have the license key that I would need. But I still have not gotten the license key.

The page for the license key stated that I should receive it within 30 minutes (and i did check the spam folder too) but I have not gotten it.

I also tried clicking to resend my key and I then get an email stating the following:
Somebody, hopefully you, filled in the avast! Home Edition license resend form on page http://www.avast.com/resend-license-free-antivirus.php.
We are sorry, but we have no record in our database for the email address provided. If you need a license key for avast! Home Edition, please use this online form to get one: http://www.avast.com/registration-free-antivirus.php

when I used the link at the above link (again) it is stating that the registration was successful but I am not getting a registration key. I have tried this 3 times now.

I am not sure why I am suddenly having these issues but would be very much appreciative of any help.

Thanks So VERY Much

Did you check your email?

just the same with my problem after using system restore.
it is now solved after uninstalling and reinstall avast.

I have answered your topic you created 2 minutes before this post.

Please stick to the one topic it just causes duplication of effort for those trying to help, thanks.
