Read all about it here → http://blog.chip.de/0-security-blog/security-suiten-2008-im-test-q12008-20080122/
If you don’t speak German, just read the titles, they’re almost the same as in English.
Way to go, avast!

That is very good news.

Thanks.

Wow good news Avast is better than AVG

It is good but not really news! ;D

Seriously, Avast rated surprisingly well in regard to rootkits. FPs were not so good.

Results in English here:

Congratz Alwil.Avast will be number one antivirus on this planet ;D Go Avast Go.

This is great news. I loaded Avast free on my daughter’s laptop last summer just before she went to college and she hasn’t had an infection yet. Such test results confirms why. Avast is just plain good and it works very well with Vista Home Premium.

Ah–muchas gracias.

De nada.

(Always knew that Spanish ‘O’ Level I did 25 years ago would come in useful one day!)

Aquí se habla en inglés,hihihihi.

I am using Avast home and its better than Mcafee in detection rate, in my opinion.

this is really great. i have wondered if avast had a better dtection rate than avg since i switched from it. avg really slowed my com down brrrrrrrrr .i am really happy with this new av

ps : can someone tell when the new version of avast come out?how it will be named? what new feat it will have etc i am really curios about it

It will be released when it’s ready! Stay alive, and you will see when it’s released

There are a couple of topics relating to version 5.0 (so a forum search should help), the features are however, not cast in stone, but it will be very well worth the wait.

avast! is in ongoing development for version 5.0, but who knows we might well have other program updates before that. One thing for sure if you monitor the forums, you will find out here ‘first.’

hello there can someone tell what the win32 l-pinch is?i found this in my last scan a week ago

I am also very happy about that

LdPinch infection is rather dangerous. I’m sure that you should change passwords form you ICQ, mail, sites etc.
E.g. description of one variant of this family:

i thought it was a false alrm becouse i scaned the computer with Bit defender and it didn’t find anything. I scaned it with AVG nothing. than i redownloaded avast and it found nothing.so i am a bit calm right now.
I should say that all of the AV were updated. Now i have another question:What dou guys think about AVG ANTISPYWARE? i READ ON THIS THREADS THAT IT WASNT VERY GOOD.wHAT ABOUT AD-WARE?
pLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ???

AVG anti-spyware is better than adaware, but it does seem not to be developing at the pase of others like SuperAntiSpyware.
