You can update your existing installation by going to Account > Settings > Updates in the Avast One application.
To activate premium subscriptions, make sure you are logged into your Avast Account via the Account menu in the application.

What is the difference between One and Ultimate?
Thank you in advance for answering my queries. I’m trying to decide but website doesn’t say anything about Ultimate but the free app wants me to upgrade to Ultimate or Premium but doesn’t offer One.

If you have Avast Free (my guess), then the natural upgrade path would be Avast Premium or Ultimate as that is the same product path. That may be why you are only shown those products.

Avast One (Essentials), the free version or Avast One (Paid version) is a different product range and in order to go down that path you would have to uninstall Avast Free.

I’m not overly enamoured with the naming of this new product as it doesn’t really tell you much or how to differentiate between Avast One (Essentials) free, and Avast One with the full range of tools.

Per your suggestion, I have decided to uninstall the free version and go with One, the paid version.

In the past I was using avast antivirus, is avast one more complete suite for protection or what is the difference?

Yesterday, I had trouble to install avast one, you should mention that a stable network connection is needed.
It simply stopped with a message that installation failed no further clue.
I has issues with installation with avast free antivirus and then also with avast one.
Today, I worked in a second try and I am sure my network was in perfect condition, not sure, if your server has issues.
