Hi Clato, simply asjust your Windows sounds to suit your needs. It’s that simple. Best, zzyzzx

The avast! sounds are not bound to the windows sounds dialog, hence the need for the tutorial.

@zzyzzx

Things like this happen quite a lot now. It is quite often caused by the different operating methods of XP vs. Win7/Vista. It’s to allow (partly) for added security in Windows.

When you install a program in Win7/Vista it is split between between ‘Program Files’ and ‘Programdata’. If you have an x64 version of Win7 (and I presume Vista), you also get ‘Program Files (x86)’, to keep the native 64bit programs separate from the 32bit programs.

In this case, as SPG Scott has rightly pointed out, the sounds in Avast! are not bound to the Windows sounds, and operate independently.

I have come across similar problems when installing programs on XP and then Win7.
