Very strange. It would not work in the Avast Secure Browser erither.
It did work using the Edge browser.
DavidR post:19: bob3160 post:18: Asyn post:17: bob3160 post:7:Why don’t I ever see a link for the update of Avast Omni?
Some of us do use Omni.Hi Bob, here you are…
https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_omni_setup_online.exe
https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_omni_setup_offline.exeThanks Asyn. Amazing that Avast couldn’t supply them.
Unfortunately, neither of these links work.It appears to be working for me (using firefox), I tried the offline.exe setup file, it redirects to another location, see attached images. So it would appear that the redirect isn’t working for you. You could try copying the url in my first image and see if that works directly.
Your redirect seems to indicate AVG.
It is just a location, but the file name at the end of the URL is for avast omni as my other images indicate.
As they say it is just a depository (have to be careful with that word)
I was able to download it via Edge.
Chrome and the Avast SecureBrowser did not work.

Did you forget that I’m a Senior?
I’m on a new computer.
Oups!!! sorry I forgot
I am running Windows 10 and Avast Premium Security. My Windows 10 wants to update every day. I understand there is a registry conflict issue. How do I fix it? It is very annoying and the update takes half a day.
I love this update so far.
Not sure if the issue im having started with the update or not but the last day or so, videos on Facebook play about 5 seconds in then i get an error and the video stops. Ive tried restarting windows & clearing history/cache. It doesnt seem to happen on regular Chrome, just on Avast Secure Browser. It says my version is up to date Version 88.0.7977.151 (Official Build) (64-bit). Any Ideas??? Thanks
Thank you for this update version.

Still have following memory leak since 20.7 …
Paulino Sato post:70:Hi,
I found the the source of the problem, is the wpad.dat file used to auto define the proxy (or no proxy).Sorry for delay.
Version 20.8.5684.602 not solved my situation. Same behavior, soon I connect network cable Avsta start eating all memory.
It happens on some networks, not on others. Or start after some time.
My network are the culprit? Why special have on these networks? My test procedure is this:
Disable swap/paging on window, avoid system to use paging, a avast just eat all ram and killed by the kernel (I think).
Start computer with network cable disconnected (no wifi).
Open taskmanager, and Avast GUI.
Connect network cable and watch rise of memory usage by Avast. If have some thing on my network causing the Avast memory issue, what can be?
My firewall is a linux machine, very simple, just for NAT, no complex packet filtering, multi internet access and Squid proxy (all most disabled).
I drop all forwarding from offending host. No change.
Dropped all input to firewall. NOW, avast no eating memory.
I opened port 80, and Avast start eating memory again. What Avast accessing? Check the webserver log.
Avast getting the wpad file for proxy definition on this network. Renamed wpad.dat file, and try again.
Whitout wpad, no problem, avast try to get file, get a 404 and nothing happens.The log on webserver (lighttpd 1.4.19): 10.0.103.91 wpad - [09/Oct/2020:09:36:43 -0300] "GET /wpad.dat HTTP/1.1" 200 94 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.3.3626.1895 Safari/537.36 Avastium (20.8.2432)" wpad.dat content: function FindProxyForURL(url, host) return "DIRECT"; }
I hope this information helps to solve the problem.
Tanks, Paulino.
I confirm, it comes from the proxy !
Disabling the option “Automatically detect settings” of proxy under Windows, will no more cause the memory leak.
Activating it again, and Avast eats again all memory …https://s23429.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/windows-automatic-proxy-setup.png

After last update (21.1.2449 (compilation 21.1.5968.561)) AVAST CPU usage is @20-25% when will you fix it?
Is it my impression or after this update the CPU usage has increased (even reaching peaks of 15% / 20% especially when copying large files to USB sticks or downloading large files from web? Instead with PC at “rest” instead it is not so.
The same for me - over 20% CPU usage just after updating (computer reset).

To me it does it only when I download large files (1-2 GB) for example, which I can rename after a few minutes as it is in use by Avast and the CPU reaches 15% -20% of use. At rest PC it is almost 0%.
for me - all the time and it goes up even to 35%
