I have same problem. Avast UI and system tray icon crashes after boot. Did repair and uninstall reinstall. UI crashes. Windows 10 says I’m protected by Avast but I can’t use the UI. Can I download the previous version until this is sorted?
Old version doesn’t help, it will be automatically updated to the new one. We are investigation the issue. Anyway thank you very much for such details: A heap has been corrupted.
You completely removed connection bars that let control how much access an app has to in, out or only local network… Why?
21.6 had these options, https://imgur.com/a/vBC286q and 21.7 doesnt - is there alternative to them?
Also Application Rules are BARELY working, trying to access them crashes Avast https://imgur.com/a/Bm6bbwc
This never happened before in 8+ years I paid for your software. This is the most unstable release.
@DavidR. Hippo v Puma again. I remember us having problem finding back versions of v18 some time ago and you posted link to filepuma for that as well. Good to learn old versions are still on there.
I would reccommend users keep previous copies of offline installers as backup, in case of problems with the latest release version.
However, I just wonder if from the installation of avast free if the paid license is applied or assigned from the avast account, would that convert to the paid version ???
I too would recommend downloading and saving copies of the off-line installation file.
network and application rules can be filtered via button More->Filter rules.
Avast 21.6 is not possible to officially download.
Is it possible to share crash dump (related to application rule)? Dump file should be located here: c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\ . If possible share to petr.blatny@avast.com .
Related to missing connection bars → I’m sending the feedback to the UI/UX and FW team.
