Can i ask a stupid question? Is Avast linked to, or replacing AVG?

I have loaded Avast on my desktop running Vista Ultimate, and deleted AVG. I have a prompt saying the real time shields are off as the machine is in passive mode. Jusy updated and current version is 17.6.2310 and build is 17.6.3625.218.

Should I be downloading the AVG version below?
