My Little Windows 7 Sp1 Intel Atom PC, can’t even hardly rez the standard ui, not sure how it will do with 17.6 and Full Screen protection dialogs, gonna have to get it on there to see in a few minutes

I know my big Windows 10 8 Core Desktop can probably, but also don’t like that, as why a full screen, why can’t it stick to taskbar notification like it has been for years? Why change something for the sake of change?

“Show last popup” in system tray doesn’t work anymore.

Was informed that these are no bugs, but expected behavior in the new version.

I really do hate this change for changes sake, this is just another pain in the rear with an in your face popup requiring manual intervention.

What is wrong with the Current(Stable) POP-UPs? Really dislike the direction they are heading with usability and interface.Pls bring back the version 4 GUI… ;D

Yes why change the alert popups for infected item for Local file shield and Webshield and Behavior shield? Change for Change Sake? The full screen in your face popups is just gonna cause older folks to be alarmed, or click something wrong I think when it popups

Been using Avast since 2006, and not so sure on Avast direction lately

New Beta version 17.6.2306 free antivirus no Incompatible with comodo firewall ver 10.0.1.6258.
Test steps：
1.first install comodo firewall ver 10.0.1.6258 on windows 8.1 pro x64 with all last update.
2.install free antivirus Beta version 17.6.2306.
3.restart PC.
4.only avast start. comodo firewall not start.
5.use avast 17.5.2303,all ok.

New detection dialogue does not allow me to choose what to do when set to ask; is this correct behavior?
It only asks “Move to chest” and “Ignore”, no “Delete” or “Repair” available.

I thought that Avast purchased AVG not the other way around.
Sorry, don’t mean to ruffle any ones feathers but we seem to be loosing some of the good
things that were part of the Avast UI.

Not only the good things, but those that made Avast Unique.

Aside from being highly configurable for the user, hell if I had wanted AVG, I would have gone back there or not left over 14 years ago.

Same here.Currently Avast became AVG. Going to ESET or Emsisoft.They have simple UI and Highly Protected.

Maybe someone doesn’t realize that in the US, many of the Avast users jumped ship from AVG.
Making Avast more like AVG is going in the wrong direction.

Agrees Avast going more like AVG is definitely the wrong direction, I jumped ship from AVG back in late 2005, briefly tried out Windows Live One care when it first came out, then been mostly on Avast Free since I learned of it, and jumped to that way back when. On the Fence on the changes right now, not even sure if I did abandon ship now what i’d even use, on limited budget so paying for a program not sure on lol.

Mind you my test PC (Windows 7 SP1 Desktop) I can’t even get the threat alert to popup lol, so I don’t know if it’s a security setting in new home gateway modem (cable modem, router, wifi, and phone emta all I one) or what, but when I try eicar test file on that one, (download version) I get page cannot be displayed lol, so far I haven’t even personally seen the new threat alert, except one time on that system

One File alert popped up as normal corner alert, then did the second test on my main Desktop for a change since upstairs machine keeps saying page cannot be displayed when I try the same test. (besides doing clean install of this PC probably when Fall Creators update comes) This is the kinda popup I cannot stand, Whats wrong with using the same detection alert in the right corner just above the taskbar?

Seems you’re still on “Legacy licensing”, it’s fixed in “Alpha licensing”.
