Enjoy this beta!
We are looking forward to your feedback.

AVAST Team.

I appreciate the new beta update.
Whilst its nice to say what’s new, what about a section on what’s fixed ?

Considering there are - No Know Issues in the above info
Whilst there have been issues reported in this beta and some that haven’t been resolved in the current regular release.

Come on… on a Premier version? I suppose this turns off with the same toggle that rest of the offers but :frowning:
I honestly don’t want Google Chrome spying on my web and program usage.

I don’t believe it does, as far as I’m aware it refers to in-program popup ads/promos.

This is why a custom install is the way to go and if an update in place, keep your eyes done as you have.

I appreciate the new beta update.
So all issues are fixed in this Beta version?

Interesting, I didn’t get any Chrome offer this time (update via GUI).

[BUG] - The close/start Avast dialog in the startup screen is unreadable/unclickable (German GUI).

All major issues have been fixed. There are still some minor issues and UI glitches which we are fixing continuously.

Thanks.
Is this minor issue will be fixed or not? ISSUE:https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cbeulE6dW8
This is not fix from long time.https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=199712.msg1381562#msg1381562

I watched your video, you scan a file in chest 3 times and it’s marked as no virus.
But where’s the problem exactly, could you please elaborate…!!

From avast tray right-click viruschest scan option not working. But from Avast main GUI it is working fine.It is a BUG.

OK, just tested it and can confirm the issue. It’s not fixed yet.

Thanks and hope avast dev fix this issue this time.

You’re welcome. Fingers crossed…

It hasn’t worked for some time (it hasn’t just started in this beta), it doesn’t work in the regular release version 17.5.2303. Why it would be any different depending on how you access the Virus Chest, is beyond me.

Though I just wonder if it is somehow permissions, but it has worked for many, many, years without issue what they have changed in the Scan interface (its looks like a different screen when the scan is running) would appear to have broken it.

Hi Dave, it works if the GUI is already open. Seems to be a dependency.

Of course it does, that is what we are saying, but it doesn’t if you go directly to the virus chest from the tray icon. You have to ask why Avast would change the dependency.

This is the same as the decision to open the UI when using the context menu ‘Quick’ scan another monumental pain in the backside. The tray icon context menu is meant to make access quicker to elements that are buried in the UI. Avast have promised/talked about improving the context menu of the tray icon, but nada, zilch, sod all, if anything it is more depreciated.

Sorry if my answer wasn’t clear, I meant it also works if the GUI is open and you go directly to the virus chest from the tray icon.

It is a very rare that I have this monster of a UI open especially on this win10 laptop, if it was already open then I may just go through the UI.

No worries, this was rather a remark for the devs…
