Whilst I am happy that you can add more files to the virus chest at once, this is a new version (v18) so I was expecting a bit more in terms of bug fixes and the user interface. This may sound a bit harsh but I think more work is needed before v18 is released as a stable build.
I’ll add a few aspects which should be improved/fixed - I know they have been worked on but you do expect permanent fixes.
Numerous users are still reporting the behaviour shield is turned off at startup
No stats for more than one year now
No logs of detected items within the UI (from previous detections which are cleared from notification center)
No improvement to the scanning UI (No last file scanned, speed of scan etc) - that will get rid of the “stuck” scan questions. The rootkit scan incorporated within the full scan doesn’t affect the percentage.
Settings UI not moved to CEF.
The Cleanup and Data Shredder options need to be worked on. Cleanup reports junk but doesn’t say what will be deleted until the latter screens. Some reports that the Data Shredder is filling nearly all of HDD data.
On the positive side, the program is far more stable with fewer bugs since v17 is released and the detection rates have improved to show some consistency. I just feel there should be more priority to current known bugs and improvements rather than constantly adding new features.
This is just one of the things that I can’t understand. Useful things that have worked for years all of a sudden stop working (for no apparent reason) or have been removed completely.
Still no revision of the tray icon context menu (promised a very long time ago) to make it easier to access areas of the UI, unless of course deletion of useful options being removed counts (NOT).
And you can add this: Different scans, which got different errors (all of them wrong!) until I told them how to fix (especially the Network-Scan, which told me WRONG PW for my new router!
But now it’s ok and I said ‘thanks’.
I think that v17 & v18 it’s not an indication for new developments in the software but only shows the year (v17.x for 2017 and v18.x for 2018 versions).
