Update 2!!

Hi everyone, we just released a small program update of the existing beta (18.3.2333 - b3860) with a fix for crashing UI (tray) when it is being started after e.g. computer restart etc. This build is also the release candidate for the 18.3 version.

new beta version 18.3.2331 (build 18.3.3851) is released.

We are tuning product behavior when subscription is expired. The main impacted component is User Interface and the way the components are shown as well as enabled/disabled. There could be problems like component you have licensed is not shown at all, is not enabled, is still enabled once subscription expired or you can see components available for higher edition etc. Most of the issues have been resolved but still we would be thankful for any report related to this.

Fixed Bugs

  • Problems with starting the Behavior Shield service
  • Problems with showing components based on subscription state (as mentioned above)
  • A few program crashes reported over the client

Known Issues

  • Sensitive Data Shield component is not enabled after upgrade from Free to higher edition (Internet Security or Premier)

  • Non-licensed components (usually available for higher edition) may be visible in the Settings → Components

  • Shredder and Sandbox items may not be visible in the context menu (although those components are installed and functional)

  • Avast Passwords:

  • Passwords are not deleted from Avast Secure Browser after successful import

  • Missing support of Avast Secure Browser in extension installation toaster

  • When user imports logins from individual browsers we wrongly report status of pending login deletion for one browser regardless overall status

After reboot, AvastUI stuck at loading state (see attached image). Other than that, so far no problems.

Another issue, not starting from this beta; firewall “allowed app” popup stays forever until I close by “X” button.
Sometimes it pop-up at strange place (almost outside of the screen; only the part of it was shown in the right edge of the screen)

Yes here also, after auto update the UI stuck for about 30 seconds however did clear.

Same problem in 2332.

Problem with some website, Avast and Windows Media Player add-in on IE11 still exists.
The number of trouble reports are gradually increasing… :frowning:

Auto Update to 2333 and No issues I’ve noticed. :slight_smile:

I suggest that the Avast Online Security plugin for Firefox disables Avast Data Sharing when Firefox is run in Private Browsing-mode.
