New beta version 20.2.2398

Hi everyone,

I`m glad to announce that new beta version is ready - 20.2.2398 (build 20.2.5089).

What’s new
New premium feature Password Protection - it protects the passwords stored in Chrome or Firefox.
UI - we completely reworked javascript layer to speed up UI loading and be able to provide changes more quickly. Some parts are still in progress so you can expect UI issues.
New firewall driver.
Rescue Disc - improved UI, updatable VPS (depends on free space on disk or USB)

Known issues
Broken detection dialogues and restart dialog.
Browser category in SmartScan has to be skipped.
Http communication can be blocked 1 minute after installation (Windows 8.1).
Post-update screen is missing.
Update progress is not visible in UI.
Old files can remain in program folder after update to latest version.
There could be a crash during program uninstallation.
There can be problems with UI failing to load after update.

Enjoy this beta!
We are looking forward to your feedback.

AVAST Team.

Thanks Jan, it took several reboots but the beta is up and running now.

This kept me busy, I had set the FW to “ask” and it did so for each (already known) rule. I finally gave up and set it to auto-decide for now.

Hmmm, it works for me. :-\

Thanks for the new beta, will install soon

[Bug Report] - Mobile offer can’t be closed (see white bar on top).

Fixed in UI 468.

With 2398, normal scan (Quick, Full, whatever) not working. Click “Scan now” but nothing happens.

Hi NON, just tested it - a quick scan did run/finish successfully here.

As with Avast version 20.1 (20.1.2397) free, when the free offline installation package is disconnected from the network, it will expire after installation and require the protection type to be selected.

Meanwhile I also did test/run the full scan - without any issues.

Thanks, so it seems another reboot needs to be performed here… :-\

You’re welcome. It’s worth a try, I had to reboot three times.

i really hope AVAST returns back the old notification in the right-bottom side of the window instead of this big one in the middle.
it is really bad decision they made

Thanks, late to the party.
Testing

An reboot resolved the scan issue.

BTW part of the new UI uses different Japanese font from others, I suggest making them consistent (to Meiryo).

Some screenshots of the new component in action… 8)
