Enjoy this beta!
We are looking forward to your feedback.
Also please be informed that we would appreciate if you would be so kind and try our Antivirus product based on so called “icarus” setup (installation and update engine) already used for other Avast products but now available also for AV. More information is here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=264883.0.
Please note that in order to get it, you need to uninstall the current one (automatic migration is not supported at the moment).
So, unless you do a Custom install and select the Firewall, it’s not going to install.
Personally, all my installs are done via Custom install so I can choose what
gets installed and what does not.
I’ve opted to do the install minus the Firewall.
Are you really expecting me to enter what is almost invisible?
Black on Black and you expect me to see that? Even with the ability to make it larger,
it’s still impossible to read.
I selected Cancel and guess what> it’s showing me my passwords???
Hi InvisibleMan, regarding the first question - well, as the Antivirus is a part of Avast One/Essential solution while also our standalone product, it cannot be released separatelly - we aim to have the latest greates Antivirus product out no matter where used. And as this section is about Antivirus, but there is no tweak that would be “visible” in standalone version, I used this general words to describe why there is a new version also for AV. Hope it helps to understand it better.
Regarding broken import exported settings, I can confirm that this is fixed and will be released in 21.11 - actually hopefully in todays BETA release, so you can try and let us know if there is anything wrong with it.
