Hi everyone,

there is a new beta version ready - 21.4.2464 (build 21.4.6266).

What was fixed

  • clean malware transient cache items on reconfiguration (flushing scan-cache more often)
  • important fix in setup related to japanese strings
  • fix in setup related to business crash in service

Known issues

  • Editing exception actually double it (original + new exception)

Hello NON,
the problem with “japanese strings” was the text on the main install page.
Exactly this text:
EN:By installing or using the product, you agree to its end user license agreement and privacy policy.
and Japanese fixed correct version :この製品をインストールまたは使用することにより、使用承諾条項 及び プライバシーポリシー に同意するものとします

The string looks good to me though.

And BTW, I try to initiate install over icarus stream and of course error message apprears. The last statement suggests to download installer from somewhere, but not specified. :-\

Hm, some strange URL exceptions added…

NON, bob3160: Hi guys, AV update to new 21.4.6266 version has not been released for new (Icarus) setup yet. Last published version for Icarus setup is 21.4.6249 and new 21.4.6266 version should be released tomorrow (if internal build verification will be OK)

Unfortunately reinstall of new Icarus setup by current setup is not and will not be supported (mentioned here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=264883.0) → error message about unsupported installer is displayed but you are right - link/web site with compatible Icarus installers is not ready now. We are sorry for current bad user experience

if you want to switch back to current setup it is necessary to uninstall AV based on new Icarus setup and then install AV based on current setup. But if I may ask you, please keep your Icarus AV. Your feedback is very useful for us :slight_smile:

I’ll wait till tomorrow. Maybe, we can get a heads up once it’s been released so I can download the right version.

Hello, AV 21.4.6266 build was released also to separated BETA channel where new Icarus setup is tested (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=264883.msg1615717#msg1615717). Thank you
