I’m not seeing this popup any more so can I assume it’s been addressed in this new version?

Thanks for the new beta

Just rebooted and got this. Maybe just a glitch :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi bob3160, I asked the team and there is really this new popup since the version 24.4. It is enabled only in beta. New approaches how to attract users to visit the main UI and keep users updated regarding the product status are being tested.

You can disable these kind of messages directly in Windows Notification settings (you can manage there notifications for all other applications in Windows).

Thanks for the feedback.

Jan

Hi Jan,
I’m not trying to turn off all notifications from Avast which is the option in the Windows notification settings.
I just think that this popup is annoying considering that I already know Avast is running and I’m protected via the
Avast icon in the taskbar. It would make sense to show that popup if the Avast icon wasn’t active in the taskbar.
A good AV keeps me safe and stays out of my way when everything is OK. Thanks

I would tend to agree with bob3160, turning off all notifications in the Windows Notification settings is a bit overkill, a blunt instrument.

Surely the option not to see this would/should be covered by the existing Avast PopUp Notifications Treatment option ‘Limited Mode’ ?

I would hope so as well.
Last thing we need is extra unsolicited and unwanted Avast pop-up’s in production versions.

After updating to this beta, I cannot send/receive any e-mails while MailShield is on.
To receive/send e-mails, I have to disable MailShield or POP3/SMTP TLS encryption.

These are from Mail.log when this issue happened:

Please don’t put any other useless popups… the Avast icon is enough to reassure users.
