Whilst the Title clearly states this is a New Version, but the Topic is in the Beta - Avast sub-forum ???
Plus the Download location would appear to be that of the regular builds and not Beta. See attached image of a previous regular release https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=204588.0, this has the same download locations.
I was told that by release 17.6 the problem with the Behavior Shield being off almost each time the system is restated would be fixed.
Has this problem been addressed and fixed as promised ???
yes, we did some changes for the beta build.
Could you let us know if you still have the issue with the start of the Behavior Shield with this Beta build?
@ PDI, I’ve installed the beta, restarted as requested after the update without problems.
Have since the install restarted the system 3 times without problems. All modules worked as they should.
I’ve also turned off the system 3 times and started the system after the shut down without incident.
Right now, I’m happy to see the Behavior Shield non start problem seems to have been fixed.
If this fix is included (as it would appear), then it should be included in the change log/fixes as it certainly affected a number of users who took the time to report it in the forums.
alright thanks for beta…
This beta is very smooth
95% Stable .
Did’t find any bug or issues.
But I’m still testing.
If i just got anything i’ll tell you later
Found a couple of bugs with 17.6.2305 (one of which was critical enough to crash the OS) on a Windows 10 x64 laptop with AMD A9-9410 processor/chipset and all current Windows updates/patches.
First, I ran a scheduled full scan this evening, and when it was complete I looked for the tray icon to bring up the program window for the results. But the tray icon had disappeared. The tray program was still running, because when I right-clicked on the tray where the avast! icon had been, the avast! context menu popped up and allowed me to open the program window; it is just that the icon was not visible.
Now the bigger problem: When the main window opened, I clicked on the notification icon in the upper-right to see the scan result. After clearing the result and closing the window, I tried to open LibreOffice Writer. I immediately got a hard Windows crash and the operating system forced an automatic reboot. I didn’t have memory dumps enabled, so I don’t have anything to analyze to see what went wrong. I have since enable dumps, and if (or when) this happens again, I’ll try to forward the info for you to have a look at.
