What is New
Network, web protection & Safeweb/Secure DNS
- More robust Secure DNS failover
When no DNS-over-HTTPS server is reachable, the backoff logic and retry intervals are now respected instead of collapsing back to rapid retries, reducing unnecessary traffic and timeouts. - Configurable behaviour under repeated DNS errors
Admin-level settings can now limit how often new server lists are downloaded and whether DNS server re-selection should be triggered at all when persistent errors are detected. - More defensive CSV parsing of server lists
The parser for downloaded server lists has been replaced with an RFC-compliant, more robust implementation to better handle malformed data and avoid resource exhaustion.
What Was Fixed
VPN stability
- Top VPN crash during shutdown fixed
A null-pointer dereference in the VPN service shutdown path (seen as a top crash in telemetry) has been fixed, improving reliability when turning VPN off or shutting down Windows.
TuneUp – Data Recovery
- Excluded folders are now respected on all supported file systems
In Data Recovery, folders marked as excluded (including system folders) are now correctly skipped even on FAT32 and exFAT volumes, so scans and results no longer include content the user opted out of.
